Unauthenticated code execution via arbitrary-path ASP upload
Published Feb 17, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Improper authentication in Kaseya VSA allows remote attackers to gain Master Admin access or execute arbitrary code without credentials. The forwarding service exposes LocalAuth/setAccount.aspx without enforcing authentication, while ConfigTab/uploader.aspx accepts an attacker-controlled full path and ASP content. Successful account creation grants control of managed endpoints, while the upload path executes code as the web-server account.
