Stack-based buffer overflow in Yokogawa products listed in YSAR-15-0003 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted PCN packet. Yokogawa identifies the affected locus only as the process performing control-network communication and does not disclose the packet field, function, or unsafe copy operation that overruns the stack buffer. Access to the plant control network is required; exploitation stops network communication and its dependent process or executes arbitrary code.
