CVE-2015-5627Network attack vector

Process outage via crafted control-network packet

Published Feb 5, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024

A stack-based buffer overflow in Yokogawa control-network communication allows remote attackers to interrupt dependent processes with a crafted packet. The packet makes the control-network communication process unresponsive, but Yokogawa has not disclosed the parser or unchecked copy operation. Exposure requires network access to the plant control network; successful attacks stop processes that depend on the communication function.
