Stack-based buffer overflow in Yokogawa control-system products allows remote attackers to interrupt network communications via a crafted packet. The control-network communication process mishandles packet data, overruns a stack buffer, and becomes unresponsive; no routine or packet field is disclosed. Unauthenticated access to the isolated process-control network is required, and exploitation disables processes that depend on the communication function.
