Administrator action hijacking via missing nonce validation
Published Jan 28, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
CSRF and stored XSS in Private Only 3.5.1 allow remote attackers to hijack an administrator's session via a crafted form submission. Private Only accepts administrative POST requests without a WordPress nonce, stores the po_logo parameter, and emits it as raw HTML without attribute escaping. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to load or submit the crafted request; injected JavaScript can add users, delete posts, or modify PHP files.
