Privilege escalation in Silicon Integrated Systems XGI VGA Display Manager 6.14.10.1090 allows local users to execute arbitrary kernel code. The xrvkp.sys handler for IOCTL 0x96002404 accepts attacker-controlled source data and destination addresses, creating a write-what-where condition. A local low-privileged process can overwrite HalDispatchTable function pointers and execute code with kernel privileges; the published proof of concept also demonstrates a system crash.
