Unauthenticated TCP-port access via broad FTPS gate
Published Feb 28, 2020 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Network policy bypass in Juniper Networks Junos OS on SRX Series allows remote attackers to access any TCP port on a protected FTPS server. The FTP ALG cannot inspect the encrypted control channel, so ftps-extensions opens a client-to-server gate covering every destination TCP port. Exposure requires the non-default option on an SRX protecting the server and lasts until the associated control session closes.
