API invocation via plaintext WebView script injection
Published Oct 31, 2023 · Updated Sep 12, 2024
Script injection in LINE@ for Android and iOS 1.0.0 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to invoke application APIs. The embedded WebView permits some HTTP traffic without SSL/TLS, letting altered responses supply JavaScript that calls exposed in-app functions. Exploitation requires control of the network path, after which injected script invokes application APIs and alters app behavior.
