Subscriber-level code execution via unchecked AJAX file write
Published Jul 22, 2025 · Updated Jan 9, 2026
Missing authorization in Ajax Load More before 2.8.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to upload and delete arbitrary files. The alm_save_repeater handler writes a POST value into a predictable repeater PHP file, while alm_delete_cache derives a cache directory from POST input and unlinks its files. Subscriber access and a valid nonce are sufficient; the file write enables PHP execution under the web server account, while deletion removes cache contents.
