Reflected XSS via unescaped room parameter
Published Jun 1, 2023 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Reflected XSS in Ruddernation TinyChat Room Spy Plugin 1.2.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject scripts via the room parameter. The wp_show_room_spy function in room-spy.php accepts the posted room value without sufficient sanitization or output escaping before reflecting it into the page. No account is required, but script execution requires a victim to follow a crafted link or otherwise submit the attacker-controlled value.
