Authenticated open redirect via unescaped dismissal URL
Published Apr 30, 2023 · Updated Nov 22, 2024
Open redirect in WooThemes Icons for Features 1.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to redirect visitors to attacker-chosen sites. The maybe_process_dismiss_link method derives redirect_url from REQUEST_URI and passes it to wp_safe_redirect without first applying esc_url. An authenticated user must craft the dismissal request, and a visitor must follow it; the bounded impact is redirection to an untrusted site.
