Arbitrary file upload via upload-file.php authorization omission
Published Mar 7, 2023 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in UpThemes DesignFolio Plus 1.2 allows remote attackers to place arbitrary files through upload-file.php. The script performs no authorization or file-type check, decodes the caller-supplied upload_path, and passes the destination to move_uploaded_file before setting the file mode to 0777. Attackers must know the MD5 hash of the server's internal IP address to name the upload field; a successful request can place an executable PHP backdoor in the web root.
