Script execution via unescaped flash-message fields
Published Feb 4, 2023 · Updated Nov 25, 2024
Cross-site scripting in API Umbrella Web 0.7.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in an administrator's browser. Administrative save controllers concatenate names, usernames, email addresses, API keys, and backend hosts into HTML flash messages without escaping. Access to an admin account and a separate administrator viewing the resulting message are required; exploitation alters rendered content in that viewer's session context.
