CVE-2015-10001Network attack vector

Stored XSS via CSRF-unprotected settings

Published Nov 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 6, 2024

Stored cross-site scripting in WP-Stats before 2.52 allows remote attackers to inject scripts through forged settings requests. The plugin's admin-menu settings handler omits a CSRF check when saving values and outputs some stored values without escaping in the WordPress admin panel. Exploitation requires a logged-in high-privilege user to visit attacker-controlled content, after which the stored payload executes in that user's administrative browser context.
