Authenticated code execution via avatar extension bypass

Unrestricted file upload in Collabtive before 2.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through a crafted avatar. The manageuser.php avatar handler rejects only listed extensions, so PHP-executable .php3, .php4, .php5, and .phtml files pass validation. A valid account and a server configured to execute the uploaded extension are required; successful exploitation runs attacker-supplied code in the web application's context.
