Server crash via crafted to_char templates

Buffer overruns in PostgreSQL allow remote authenticated users to crash the database server through crafted to_char formatting templates. Numeric templates requesting many digits read past a buffer's end, while crafted timestamp templates write past another buffer's end. A valid database login and permission to run the function are required; the vendor reports that privilege escalation is unproven and unlikely.
