CVE-2015-0102Network attack vector

Session hijacking via missing Secure cookie flag

Published Feb 5, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024

Improper authentication in IBM Workflow for Bluemix allows remote attackers to capture session cookies via intercepted HTTP transmission. The service omits the Secure attribute when issuing a session cookie over HTTPS, allowing browsers to send that cookie over HTTP where a man-in-the-middle attacker can read it. Exploitation requires network interception and a victim request carrying the cookie over HTTP; the captured cookie enables session impersonation without evidence of direct service disruption.
