Unauthenticated code execution via unsanitized upload paths
Published Jan 27, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Path traversal in Lexmark MarkVision Enterprise before 2.1 allows remote attackers to execute code through an unauthenticated file upload. GfdFileUploadServlet fails to sanitize the upload path, so traversal sequences place attacker-supplied files outside the intended directory. Writing a JSP into the web application enables execution as SYSTEM, so exploitation requires network reachability but no account or user interaction.
