Script execution via crafted SVG feed URL
Published Jan 31, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Cross-site scripting in VideoWhisper Webcam plugins for Drupal 7.x allows remote attackers to run script through a crafted SVG feed URL. The special_textscroller.php example accepts the feed parameter as a remote URL and processes attacker-controlled SVG content without neutralizing embedded script. No authentication is required, but a victim must follow the crafted URL; the script then executes in the Drupal site's browser origin and can read or alter session-accessible content.
