Authenticated column disclosure via constraint error details
Published Jan 27, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Information disclosure in affected PostgreSQL core-server releases allows remote authenticated users to read denied column values through errors. BuildIndexValueDescription and ExecBuildSlotValueDescription formatted constraint-violating key and row values into error details without checking SELECT privileges or row-security policy. A database login with INSERT, UPDATE, or DELETE rights sufficient to violate a constraint can harvest values from columns for which SELECT is denied.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=9.1.x before 9.1.15
- Affected versionversion=9.2.x before 9.2.10
- Affected versionversion=9.3.x before 9.3.6
- Affected versionversion=9.4.x before 9.4.1
