Authenticated file overwrite via unrestricted ConfigPress path
Published Jan 13, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Arbitrary file overwrite in Advanced Access Manager 2.8.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to write server files. The ConfigPress page writes supplied textarea content to the path stored in the aam_configpress option without rejecting ../ traversal sequences. Administrator access to WordPress is required; a writable PHP-served path permits arbitrary code execution, while other configurations permit destructive overwrites.
