CVE-2014-5236Network attack vector

Authenticated file disclosure via crafted OpenDocument references

Published Jan 31, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024

Absolute path traversal in OX App Suite documentconverter 7.6.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read server files. Crafted OLE objects alter OpenDocument XML to bypass LibreOffice security checks, while crafted images directly reference filesystem paths, causing readable files to be embedded in converted output. An authenticated user must submit a crafted OpenDocument text file and know a target path; exposure is limited to files readable by the reduced-privilege open-xchange account.
