Authenticated code execution via unsafe configuration write
Published Feb 10, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Command injection in Sphider Plus 3.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through a crafted configuration value. Configuration handling passes insufficiently sanitized input to fwrite, which stores executable content in conf.php rather than safely encoding it. The attack requires low-privileged network access but no user interaction, and resulting code executes in the web application's context.
