Unauthenticated SYSTEM code execution via traversal upload
Published Jan 17, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Path traversal in Zoho ManageEngine Desktop Central and MSP edition before 9 build 90055 allows remote attackers to execute code as SYSTEM. The agentLogUploader servlet accepts a filename containing dot-dot segments and writes the uploaded body outside its intended directory, including into the web root. No authentication is required, but valid computerName, domainName, and customerId values are needed; a planted JSP runs with SYSTEM privileges.
