Remote service denial via username-supplied blacklist address

Denial of service in Bytemark Symbiosis allows remote attackers to block a chosen IP address by submitting a crafted username. The automatic blacklist parses authentication logs and mistakes an IP address embedded in attacker-controlled username text for the connection source. Automatic blacklisting must be enabled and an exposed authentication service must record the crafted login; the chosen address is then denied access to protected services.
