Database service interruption via repeated node enumeration
Published Jan 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Resource exhaustion in BSS Continuity CMS 4.2.22640.0 allows remote attackers to stop its database through repeated GET requests. The node-enumeration fix-paths script connects to every node and reiterates its properties through database updates on each request. No authentication is required; about 70 requests can stop the backing database, which then requires a daemon restart.
