Out-of-bounds read via repeated calls after errors
Published Jan 28, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in wolfSSL CyaSSL before 2.9.4 allows remote attackers to trigger a memory access error through repeated read calls. After MAC verification fails, repeated CyaSSL_read calls proceed despite an unchecked error return and perform an out-of-bounds memory access. Reachability requires an application that continues calling CyaSSL_read after the error; published sources specify no consequence beyond the memory access error.
