Predictable session IDs in CGILua 5.2 alpha 1 and 5.2 alpha 2 allow remote attackers to hijack arbitrary user sessions. The session.lua library creates usually nine-digit identifiers from operating-system time rather than high-quality randomness, leaving a small and predictable search space. A valid user session must already exist while an attacker sends repeated guesses, after which the attacker can act with that user's session authority.

What happened
