Privileged SSH access via configuration error
Published Mar 19, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Remote access vulnerability in FortiBalancer 400, 1000, 2000 and 3000 allows remote authenticated users to gain privileged access via SSH. A platform-specific configuration error exposes an SSH path that grants elevated system access; the SSH implementation itself is not defective. Exploitation requires network reachability and valid remote authentication, with consequences including unauthorized system control and access to protected data.
