Arbitrary file writes via path traversal
Published Jan 24, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Directory traversal in affected Koha 3.8 through 3.14 releases allows remote attackers to create or modify arbitrary server files. The staff help editor accepts parent-directory sequences in its target path, while member-picupload.pl mishandles request parameters when choosing an output file. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful writes occur with the privileges of the Apache service account.
