CVE-2014-125122Public exploit

Admin password reset via fixed-size buffer overflow

Published Jul 31, 2025 · Updated Apr 7, 2026

Stack-based buffer overflow in Linksys WRT120N 1.0.07 allows remote attackers to reset the administrator password via an HTTP POST request. The tmUnblock.cgi handler passes the unbounded TM_Block_URL value to an fprintf implementation that uses vsprintf on a 256-byte stack buffer. Reachability is normally limited to the local network because internet-side remote management is disabled by default; exploitation permits blank-password management access.
