CVE-2014-125117Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked POST length

Published Jul 25, 2025 · Updated Apr 7, 2026

Stack-based buffer overflow in D-Link DSP-W215 1.02 allows remote attackers to execute system-level code via a crafted HTTP POST request. The my_cgi.cgi get_input_entries function trusts Content-Length and writes an oversized storage_path value through a fixed stack-resident entries array, overwriting the saved return address. LAN reachability to the device is required; successful exploitation grants control of the embedded operating system and can reconfigure or destabilize the plug.
