Authenticated database access via portfolio search injection
Published May 28, 2023 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
SQL injection in Huge-IT Portfolio Gallery 1.1.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary SQL via portfolio search. The showportfolio function inserts the search_events_by_title POST value into raw LIKE clauses after HTML escaping, which does not neutralize SQL syntax. An authenticated WordPress session is required, and successful exploitation can read, modify, or delete data available to the site database account.
