Authenticated SQL injection via unescaped referral name
Published Feb 5, 2023 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
SQL injection in Gimmie Plugin for vBulletin 4 version 1.2.2 allows remote authenticated users to manipulate database queries. The trigger_referral.php handler concatenates the POST referrername value into a username lookup without escaping it before query execution. A crafted referral submission can therefore alter the lookup and select unintended user records.
