CVE-2014-125066Known exploitationNetwork attack vector

Bot disconnect via unbounded webpage title relay

Published Jan 8, 2023 · Updated Aug 6, 2024

Denial of service in emmflo Yuko-bot allows remote authenticated users to disconnect the bot through a link whose page has an oversized title. The handle_privmsg_urls method passes each posted URL to LinkThumbnailer.generate and sends object.title to the IRC channel without a length bound. An attacker must be able to post a link in a channel the bot monitors; the resulting oversized IRC message disconnects the bot, with no reported data exposure or modification.
