SQL injection via unescaped announce event parameter
Published Jan 7, 2023 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
SQL injection in ananich bitstorm allows remote attackers to write tracker database state through a crafted event parameter. Before the patch, announce.php wrapped the event query value in quotes and interpolated it into an INSERT SELECT statement without escaping. The unauthenticated announce endpoint requires no user interaction, and database effects are limited by the tracker account's MySQL privileges.
