Timing side channel in Pylons horus allows attackers to infer password information from response times during repeated login attempts. AuthenticationService.login uses ordinary inequality to compare the stored and supplied passwords, producing input-dependent timing; the patch substitutes a constant-time comparison. Exploitation requires authenticated access from an adjacent network and high-complexity timing measurements, with the reported consequence limited to confidentiality.
