QEMU crash via malformed VHDX geometry

Infinite-loop denial of service in QEMU before 2.0 allows local users to crash the emulator by supplying a crafted Hyper-V VHDX image. The VHDX block driver calculates BAT entries from untrusted block_size and logical_sector_size values without bounds checks, allowing derived sectors_per_block values to drive an infinite loop. Exploitation requires the QEMU process to open an attacker-controlled image; the resulting impact is service interruption without stated confidentiality or integrity loss.
