Crash via null-pointer write during AVI parsing

Memory corruption in Daum PotPlayer 1.5.40688 allows local users to crash the player by opening a crafted AVI file. Processing the supplied RIFF/AVI structure reaches PotPlayer.dll and performs an aligned 16-byte write through a null destination pointer. Exploitation requires user interaction to open the file or its URL; public evidence demonstrates an access-violation crash but not code execution.
