Administrator-browser script execution via unfiltered cli.cgi input
Published Feb 4, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Stored XSS in D-Link DIR-100 firmware 4.03B07 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in an administrator's browser. The cli.cgi command interface accepts unfiltered script markup in DHCP reservation names and scheduler descriptions, stores it, and later renders it in the administration interface. Exploitation requires router credentials to plant the payload and an administrator to open the affected page; the script then runs in the router interface's origin.
