Authenticated code execution via unvalidated module upload
Published Feb 18, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in PrestaShop 1.5.5 allows remote authenticated users with Salesman access to execute PHP on the server. AdminModulesController.php extracts a ZIP or TAR into /modules before verifying that its contents form a valid module, leaving nonmodule PHP files in place. Default Salesman or Logistician module-upload permission is sufficient to expose database credentials, install a web shell, or create a SuperAdmin account.
