CVE-2013-5582Public exploit

User-assisted authentication bypass via fixed client ID

Published Feb 11, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024

Authentication bypass in Ammyy Admin 3.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to control a host after a user runs a local program. The Windows executable stores its client ID at fixed address 0x004A3658, so the proof of concept reads the identifier from process memory with ReadProcessMemory. Exploitation requires the victim to run the helper locally; the retrieved ID is sent to the attacker and used with preset access settings to control the desktop.
