Administrative control via exposed unauthenticated console
Published Jan 7, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Authentication bypass in Cisco Linksys EA2700 1.0.14, EA3500 1.0.30, E4200 and EA4500 2.0.36 allows remote attackers to gain administrative access. An installation or upgrade bug can leave the classic administrative console listening on TCP port 8083 without requiring authentication. Network access to that port grants control of router administrative features even when the interface reports remote access as disabled.
