Authenticated browser script execution via manipulated search URLs
Published Aug 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Cross-site scripting in affected OTRS ITSM 3.x releases allows remote authenticated users to inject web script through ConfigItem search URLs. The ConfigItem search places attacker-controlled URL content into a generated page without sufficient neutralization, causing the browser to interpret it as HTML or script. A valid agent login and victim interaction are required; execution occurs in the victim's browser within the OTRS origin, enabling limited data access or actions available to that session.
