CVE-2013-4582Network attack vector

Local file disclosure via Git option injection

Published Jan 28, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024

Local file inclusion in GitLab 5.0 through 5.4.1, CE before 6.2.4, and EE before 6.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to read server files. In GitLab Shell before 1.7.8, create_branch, create_tag, import_project, and fork_project build Git commands without a -- option terminator, so crafted names or sources are interpreted as Git options. Exploitation requires an authenticated GitLab web account and can copy files readable by the GitLab service into hosted repository metadata.
