Unauthorized access via persistent authentication session
Published Feb 18, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Privilege escalation in IBM Maximo Asset Management 6.2, 7.1, and 7.5 allows remote attackers to obtain unauthorized access. When WebSEAL Basic Authentication is enabled, Maximo fails to invalidate the authentication session, leaving it reusable after it should end. Exposure requires WebSEAL with Basic Authentication; public sources do not identify the session-ending event or precise privileges reached.
