Arbitrary file read via SnapMirror log path
Published Jan 29, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Local file inclusion in NetApp OnCommand System Manager 2.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary files. The Diagnostics > SnapMirror Log handler accepts a caller-controlled path and retrieves files without confining access to log locations. Root authentication is required, and successful exploitation exposes files readable by the application; the vendor treated this behavior as a design feature.
