CVE-2013-3307Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated command execution via ping parameter metacharacters

Published Jul 11, 2025 · Updated Jul 11, 2025

OS command injection in Linksys E1000 through 2.1.02, E1200 before 2.0.05, and E3200 through 1.0.04 allows remote attackers to execute commands. The apply.cgi handler passes a ping_ip value containing shell metacharacters into the router's ping command without neutralizing command separators. Requests reach TCP port 52000 without privileges or user interaction, allowing command execution in the router process context.
