Unauthenticated SOAP access via null session comparison
Published Jan 29, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Authentication bypass in vtiger CRM 5.1.0 through 5.4.0 allows remote attackers to invoke SOAP operations without valid sessions. The validateSession function loosely compares the server-side session value with an attacker-supplied sessionid, causing null to equal zero, false, or null. No credentials or user interaction are required, and any SOAP operation relying on this check becomes available for unauthorized invocation.
