Client-side script execution via unsanitized playerID parameter
Published Jan 28, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Cross-site scripting in the podPress WordPress plugin 8.8.10.13 allows remote attackers to execute script via a crafted playerID value. The 1pixelout_player.swf Flash player embeds the playerID query parameter without sufficient sanitization, allowing injected script to run in the site's browser context. Exploitation requires a user to open a crafted player URL; successful script execution can access browser data and actions available to that site origin.
